Information Collection and Use

The MiVAC Trust collects information from our users at several different points on our website. The MiVAC Trust is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.

Viewing Pages

No personal information is collected by The MiVAC Trust from visitors to our website when viewing pages.

Email Addresses

The email addresses of people who email us directly are used to respond to your queries and included on a data base for later follow up.  If you do not wish to receive follow up material, please email us asking to be taken off the database.

Refund Policy

It is our policy not to refund membership fees or donations unless a clearly identifiable error has occurred. Please contact us by email: info@mivac.org.au within 7 days of the payment being made in order to receive a refund.  Please ensure that a full description of the nature of the error is included along with the amount involved.

Order

We request information from the user on our order form which includes a donation or renewal or membership. Here a user is asked to provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date).  Please note: all financial information is encrypted for your security. This information is used for receipt purposes and for reminders of renewal of membership.  If we have trouble processing an order, this contact information is used to get in touch with the user and may be used for follow up to ensure satisfaction.

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user.  Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site.  Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates.  For instance, by setting a cookie on our site, we can process an order.  If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site.  The only drawback to this is that the user will not be able to use the online shopping cart from individual pages.

Information Automatically Logged

We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our Web site.  This information is also used to allow us to determine statistical usage of the website.

The referring URL (the WebPages you left before coming to a The MiVAC Trust web pages, if any) is logged whenever you view a page on The MiVAC Trust website. This allows us to see which areas are more popular than others on the website, the paths taken to reach each page, and it also allows us to gauge the effectiveness of presentation of The MiVAC Trust material.

All such information is gathered globally rather than individually, and no information is linked to any identifying information about you. Such aggregated data may be disclosed, for example, to potential and current advertisers providing them with information about the number of people viewing their ads and how many have clicked on them.

Personal Information

Any personal information collected will not be disclosed to any third party, except in the rare case of cooperating with law enforcement agencies to aid in identifying those persons using our services for illegal activities.  Information may be given even without a subpoena or court order if we believe such illegal activity is being conducted through our services.
